About a month ago, I stumbled upon the Wind Rose cover of this song and I was blown away at the production of it. It was mind boggling to me to see a song from Yogscast in a Minecraft vid from like 2011 get to where it is today and really illustrates how music can spread and flourish from unorthodox places. I found myself singing this earworm day after day until I finally had to give it a go. I chose to reference the original song as my basis of arrangement and added a few things later on, but kept the heart there as much as I could. There's nothing I love more than mixing fantasy and silliness, except maybe video games and metal. Believe it or not, I actually found the pick axe among some tools left by a previous tenant at my house and I knew I had to make use of it here. When I struck the rock with it, I actually didn't expect it to spark, so the first strike was caught on film. I only gave it a few hits since it was very late at night and I didn't want to explain to anyone, especially law enforcement, why I was out on a mountain, mining a random rock looking like a dwarf at 1am. Got some pretty great shots and it'll definitely make this shoot memorable.
